The DASH Club fulfills an important function in the daily lives of our service users:  young people with additional support needs. It enables them to socialise with their friends, and offers access to sport, games, music, art and drama sessions under the tutelage of trained specialists. Through these diverse activities our young people are encouraged to reach their full potential whilst having a good time.

Services For 11-18 Year Olds

Tuesday

On a Tuesday the Club sessions are held at Ashton School’s  swimming pool and games hall. The young people can choose between swimming or games including wheelchair rugby and basketball. A sports coach trained by North Glasgow College leads the session in the sports hall.  If the weather is good we often go for a walk round Hogganfield Loch

Wednesday

On a Wednesday we offer 2 separate sessions: at Possilpoint Community Centre we have drama with a specialist drama coach. The young people use their imagination to create scenarios where, with the help of staff and fellow students, they can enter the magical and liberating world of make believe.

The other session is 10 pin bowling  held at Springfield Quay. The coordinator takes a note of weekly scores and a trophy medal is awarded to the winner at the end of each term.

Thursday

On a Thursday, a range of activities are offered at Ashton School. On a weekly basis, we have a trained coach who organises games, and a rebound therapist who takes the young people on our trampoline.  We also run blocks of art, dance and music during the session as well as offer aromatherapy therapeutic massage.

Currently our partner: Beatroute Arts is providing music sessions at their centre in Balornock.
